
Aisling Parkes
Special Rapporteur on Child Protection for Ireland

Dr Aisling Parkes is a Senior Lecturer in Children's Rights at the University College Cork School of Law, in Ireland. Her teaching and research focus on children's rights, child law, alternative dispute resolution, disability rights, and sports law.
She is the author of Children and International Human Rights Law: The Right of the Child to be Heard, which explores how children's voices and participation rights can be effectively implemented in law and practice.
Aisling has conducted extensive interdisciplinary research on a wide range of child rights issues. These include the rights of children in care, adoption, children's participation in family law proceedings, and the rights of children whose parents are in prison.
