From Understanding to Action: Rethinking Our Response to Young People Who Use Violence in Intimate Relationships
Intimate partner violence among young people is often overlooked and remains largely invisible, despite its severe and long-lasting consequences. Young age does not make the violence any less serious, and experiences in adolescence and young adulthood shape patterns of intimate relationships later in life, making early recognition, prevention, and effective response essential.
This webinar, co-organised with WWP EN brought together experts to explore what drives the use of violence in young people's intimate relationships, how society currently responds, and what effective judicial and psycho-social interventions can look like.

Towards Justice: Bridging Systemic Gaps for Child Victims of Domestic Violence
Our joint European webinar with WWP EN took place on 16 september and brought together experts to discuss how to build child-centred, trauma-informed responses across justice systems. The event featured two presentations on children’s experiences of domestic violence and child-friendly justice approaches, followed by a panel discussion with practitioners from across Europe. It aimed to strengthen collaboration and place children’s needs and rights at the heart of domestic violence response strategies.

Our second European took place in May 2023 following the publication of the Challenge Paper “Towards LGBTI+ sensitive justice system for children in Europe”, with experts, NGOs and policymakers addressing and discussing the issue.
2022
Our first European Webinar "Do Words Matter?" took place in December 2022 and engaged with participants to take part in a debate on “terminologies” used in the field of child-friendly justice and the evolution of terms globally. It aimed to bring to light the impact and risks associated with using and translating English terms into other languages, which in some cases could cause stigmatisation, as words might have a different meaning in another cultural context.
