Ayşegül Şükran Öz

Ayşegül Şükran Öz leads a European Union project titled ""Linking Information for Adaptive and Accessible Child-Friendly Courts"" for the Validity Foundation, a legal advocacy organisation that provides specialised legal assistance to disability rights movements in Europe and Africa.
Ayşegül Öz was promoted to full professor in 2024 in the Special Education Department at Hatay Mustafa Kemal University in Turkey. She previously served as Chair of the Special Education Department and as Coordinator of the Individuals with Disabilities Unit from 2009 to 2022. Professor Öz has authored and co-authored numerous articles and book chapters in the fields of special education and child development.
She earned a BSc from Hacettepe University in Turkey in 1998, an MSc in 2002, and a PhD in Special Education from Indiana University-Bloomington in the United States in 2008. Ayşegül has worked as an academic at various universities in the United States, Cyprus, and Turkey.
