Young Perspectives

Young Perspectives (YOPE) is an international NGO based in the Netherlands that has been working since 2002 with young people in closed care settings. It uses urban arts and sports as tools to engage young people and support their development.

YOPE works directly with young people during and after detention, as well as with professionals across the youth justice system. Through creative methods such as spoken word, theatre, social design and sport, it places young people’s perspectives at the centre of its work.

The organisation also leads advocacy initiatives for and with young people in conflict with the law, contributing to more child-friendly justice processes and supporting meaningful futures for young people.

YOPE brings together a diverse team of educators specialising in urban arts and sports, alongside experts and mentors who act as positive role models and critical partners within the youth justice and care systems.
