Validity

Validity is an international non-governmental human rights organisation that uses legal strategies to promote, protect and defend the rights of people with intellectual or psychosocial disabilities worldwide.

It works towards a world based on equality, where emotional, mental and learning differences are equally valued, and where the autonomy and dignity of every individual are fully respected. Validity aims to ensure that human rights are realised for all, without discrimination.

The organisation acts on the instructions of children and adults with intellectual or psychosocial disabilities. It also serves as a watchdog, monitoring governments, exposing abuses and advocating for systemic change. In addition, Validity contributes to the broader disability rights movement by providing legal expertise.

Its work focuses on addressing widespread and systemic human rights violations, including barriers to inclusive education, restrictions on legal capacity and access to justice, and the denial of the right to live independently.
