Silvia Randazzo
Silvia Randazzo is a criminologist and independent child justice expert. She is currently pursuing a PhD at KU Leuven (Belgium) with a focus on comparative research into diversion practices for children in conflict with the law across Europe. She has extensive experience as a researcher and project coordinator in European and international multi-country projects addressing key issues in child justice, including violence against children, discrimination in access to justice, individual assessment, restorative justice, and legal aid.
As an international consultant, Silvia has developed research methodologies and tools, conducted in-depth studies, and contributed to policy papers and training materials for professionals. She collaborates closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including civil society organisations, international NGOs, and European and international bodies such as the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Council of Europe.
Her work is driven by a strong commitment to preventing unfair treatment, stigmatisation, and discrimination of children in contact with the law. She also emphasises the importance of integrating children’s and young people’s perspectives into evidence-based policymaking.
