Aisling Parkes

Dr Aisling Parkes is a Senior Children's Rights Academic at the School of Law, University College Cork, Ireland. She specialises in researching and teaching Children's Rights, Child Law, ADR Processes and Children, International Disability Law, and Sports Law. Aisling's book, Children and International Human Rights Law: The Right of the Child to be Heard (Routledge, 2013), focuses on the international legal implementation of the child's voice, including the right to freedom of expression. Aisling has conducted extensive interdisciplinary research across a range of areas connected to child and family law and international children's rights, including the rights of children in care, adoption, the right of the child to be heard in family law proceedings, and the rights of children with parents in prison.
