Cláudia Duarte

Cláudia Duarte is a 25-year-old nurse from a small village in Leiria, Portugal, currently working at the local hospital.

In September 2020, Claudia, along with five other children and young adults, filed a complaint with the European Court of Human Rights against 32 countries. The complaint argued that the respondents had violated their human rights by failing to take sufficient action on climate change and called for more ambitious measures to address the crisis.

While the case has concluded, Claudia remains committed to the ongoing fight against climate change.
